PATTERN IS MOVEMENT
Straight from the streets of Philadelphia, Pattern is Movement are a minimalist two-piece ready to release their third full length entitled All Together on Hometapes. After bonding as kids over Dr. Dre's The Chronic, members Chris Ward and Andrew Thiboldeaux formed a Christian hip hop/rock band in high school . They've come a long way from those roots yet the current product is true aggregate of all they've done. Chris throws down beats with the power of Questlove while Andrew loops angelic, ringing bell and voice harmonies augmented by strings like you might find in a Tin Pan alley score. With many comparisons to Grizzly Bear, Pinback, and The Dirty Projectors, this duo is snowballing onto the national music scene. Listen for a bit of Lennon coming through in "Bird" and just try to stop humming the melody!

JASON ANDERSON
Jason is back and bringing the party on his latest studio album from K records entitled The Hopeful and the Unafraid. An old ICB favorite, Jason brings his Springsteen-esque rock n' roll with aching guitar solos, huge saxophone lines, and raw, powerful vocals, you'll definitely have your foot tapping by the end of this one. We know you'll love "Watch Your Step."

THE RACONTEURS
Hot off the success of their first release, The Raconteurs came back with a surprise album announced just a week before the slated release date. The goal, according to the band, was to make the music available in all forms at once: vinyl, cd, and digital. However, fate was not on their side and itunes accidentally put the album up for sale 3 days before the planned date of March 25th.
The album stands strong though as an excellent second effort from a supergroup where the expectations may have been for a weaker record. Consoler of the Lonely takes you for a ride through the backwoods of Tennessee on a runaway horse cart with Jack White and co. at the reigns. It'll be a bumpy trail through the title track "Consoler of the Lonely" but we're sure you'll enjoy it!
This week's specials also include:
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - "Today's Lesson"
The Kills - "Last Day of Magic"
The Parlor Mob - "Carnival of Crows"
Rustic Overtones - "Carsick"

MAN MAN
Man Man hail from Philly and have mastered their signature Pirate Calypso, Drunken Blues on their 3rd studio album entitled "Rabbit Habbits". The album is Man Man's first release on Los Angeles based, Anti- Records. They join Neko Case, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Jollies Holland, and others on this prestigious underground label. "Rabbit Habbits" has Man Man mixing dissonate, distorted keyboard lines with horns, marimba, various unique percussive instruments, and primal dance rhythms to create a unique brand of pop songs that can only be described as memorable. I describe Man Man's sound as "A group of vacationing pirates in a pub-brawl with the Blues Brothers". We here at WICB's music department hope you enjoy their new single "Top Drawer".
